Plan Changes for Free Users

For several years, we’ve been proud to offer a generous, completely free plan that has helped users worldwide connect effortlessly. However, as times have changed—shaped by evolving user needs, technological advancements, and changing global market dynamics— we're updating our Free Meetings plan to better align with these changes.

Our Free Meetings plan is designed to let new users get an idea of how Whereby works and experience its core feature set. We want you to be able to test it in the real world, having video calls with your team or clients to test it out before making any commitments. To ensure we can continue offering this service sustainably, we’re introducing some updates.

What’s changing?

From 13 January 2025, the following changes will be made to your Free Meetings plan:

• Rooms will be limited to 4 participants
• There will be a 30 minute time limit per meeting
• Breakout Groups & Co-location Groups will no longer be available on Free Meetings plans.

These changes will be automatically made to all Free Meetings plans from 13 January 2025 onward.

Why are we making the changes?

Delivering high-quality video meetings involves ongoing costs. We want to continue enabling everyone to test Whereby before they buy, and fall in love with our simple meeting rooms. However, in order to maintain the quality and reliability you expect, while keeping the lights (and cameras!) on, we need to balance our free offerings with sustainable pricing.

Whereby's Free Meetings plan remains an excellent way to try Whereby, but for extended usage, we offer accessible pricing, starting at just $8.99 per month with no contracts or long term commitments required, and discounts if you pay annually.
